Outreach
In due course this section will describe the activities of our parish in outreach and mission to all those people who live in the city centre or come here for work, shopping and relaxation.
Mission overseas
Our Mission Partners include Gail Phillip, working for CMS with school and pre-school children in Bangkok; Rev Joanna Udal, also with CMS, working with the Archbishop of Sudan in Khartoum; and Alexander McLean, founder of the African Prisons Project in Uganda and recently awarded Nottingham University Alumnus of the Year and Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Additionally, we have strong links with Nepal and the Sierra Leone Association.
For several years there has been an ‘Overseas Mission Group’ which has been a fund-raiser for particular Christian mission projects around the world and helped to staff very profitable Saturday mornings in St Peter’s Coffee Shop for Christian Aid.
In addition….
A significant number of our church members, including our authorised lay minister are involved on a personal basis with other social initiatives in the city like Emmanuel House Day Centre, Aspire, The Malt Cross outreach to the club scene, Framework Housing, and support work with asylum seekers. Several serve as Magistrates, volunteer support teachers, pastoral care helpers in hospitals and as trustees for various organisations which offer support to the people of Nottingham.
